You can join help restore this Florida native orchid in your own yard! These orchids are grown from seed collected at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. These are potted in 3″ pots. These grow quickly into large plants and should flower in one to two years. The greenhouse photo shows one with 24″ leaves and a six foot flower spike. You can naturalize them in your landscape or grow them on a mount or in a pot.

Mounting position: grows on trunks and branches of trees
Host trees: buttonwood, mangrove
Habitat: coastal forests, swamps, tropical sloughs in souther Florida, Cuba, Central America, and South America

The leaves grow quickly to 24″ so this should be mounted in a spot with room to grow.
